Conditioning
Backward Roll
by Jace
The same falling-and-recovering skill in the other direction, and it demands a genuinely strong hand push.
How to do it
- Work on a mat, and sit back with the chin tucked so you roll along your spine.
- Set both hands flat by your ears, fingers toward the shoulders, before your head arrives.
- Push hard with the hands so the neck carries nothing — if that push isn't there yet, roll down a slight incline instead.
- Head turns to neither side during the roll; stop the set if the neck starts to feel it.
