Forward Roll
by Jace
The first thing wrestlers and gymnasts learn: meeting the floor round and relaxed instead of flat and stiff.
How to do it
- Work on a mat or soft grass, never on a hard floor.
- Squat down, hands down, chin tucked to your chest.
- Roll over one shoulder — never over the top of your head — and stay round like a ball so the momentum stands you up.
- Learn it slowly from a squat long before you try it from standing, and stop if you feel dizzy.
